MW4 DMZ Map: Hajin
The MW4 DMZ map is Hajin. It's an exclusion zone where the Korean peninsula meets Russia, and part of it was once North Korea and part South Korea[1][2]. Activision has described 13 major locations and says there are more than 60 named places in all[2]. We don't reproduce the in-game map. The sketch below shows rough positions based on Activision's descriptions.

How threat levels work
Before any fighting, each location has an expected Threat level[2]. Activision says the lowest is Low and the highest is Extreme[2]. Its tables also use Critical, High and Medium (listed alphabetically; order not officially confirmed)[2]. Fighting raises the level, and Threat doesn't count other players[2].

Lowest and highest threat areas
Activision rates these Low before any fighting starts: Deadtown's exterior; all of Imjin Farmland except the Rice Mill; all of Cheongun Village except the Heavenly Luck Casino; Mirae General Hospital; and all of Songdo Wharf[2]. Only two spots are rated Extreme: the Chang-san Air Base Bunker and the Netshin Tech Complex in The Grid[2].
Location notes
14th Political Prison
A concrete-walled prison on a cleared plateau in the North Korean wilderness, with watchtowers at every corner. The main gate is to the south and barracks are to the east. Inside the yard, a Y-shaped fortress called the Citadel is a maze of walkways and cell blocks[2].
Chang-san Air Base
Built into a granite hillside, this base hides an underground bunker bigger than the base above it. Cliffs guard the east side. Activision says recon teams have got in from the higher woodland to the south[2].
Deadtown
A deserted North Korean farming town now held by the military, with a sewer network underneath. The newer, higher east side sits by the Hajin River. Two Re-Education Centers in the middle draw the most enemies, and there's a Clinic plus Gas Stations at both ends of town[2].
Imjin Farmland
Low, flat rice fields on the southwestern edge, with long sightlines and little cover. The Rice Mill towers over the area and gives a high view[2].
Cheongun Village
The most northerly part of Hajin that was under South Korean control. Border control posts sit on its west and east sides, with the Russian one on the east. Its centrepiece is the multi-floor Heavenly Luck Casino. With no mains power, Activision suggests night vision[2].
Mirae General Hospital
Hajin's main hospital, next to a train station, with The Grid and the mall to the east. Inside, expect close-quarters fights across many wards and floors[2].
Cheonwang Peak Array
Hajin's largest telecom array, on a flat summit. Enemy troops have turned its buildings into barracks, and the roof has a helipad with long views[2].
Haneul Nuclear Reactor
Severe radiation covers the site, and Activision says you need protective gear and a gas mask throughout. It points to a possible water approach, or a tunnel from Compound Delta to the southwest[2].
NuriGO Mall
A shopping district with a police station, clinic, City Hall and a monorail station nearby. Below it is a large unpowered underground mall, where Activision recommends night vision[2].
The Grid
The fortified heart of Hajin City, sealed off by razor-wire walls. It takes in Hajin's tallest building, the DBN TV tower. Expect fighting on rooftops and in the streets below[2].
Songdo Wharf
A once-quiet coastal district on the east side, where the train and monorail still run. La Grande Vie, a luxury apartment tower, stands to the north[2].
Wolves Stadium
A ruined baseball stadium and an abandoned open-air theatre. Activision flags the northern edge, which borders The Grid, as the most dangerous part[2].
Hajin River Heights
A residential district in the southeast. One apartment building has been turned into a military base called Compound Echo[2].
Minor points of interest
Activision has named these smaller spots so far: Hajin River, Tong-il Village, Revolution Dam, Pyonghwa Village, Imjin Suburb, Mujin Pass, Daesong Ridge and Namjin Riverside[2].
Buildings and map markers
| Marker | What to expect | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Gas Station / Marine Gas Station | Repair and refuel vehicles; refill Gas Cans. Marine stations serve boats | [2] |
| Fire Station (red) | Radiation gear and parachutes | [2] |
| Police Station (blue) | Military gear and a locked Armory | [2] |
| Clinic (green) | Medical supplies | [2] |
| Hospitals | May hold scarce medical supplies | [1] |
| Residential areas | Crafting resources | [1] |
| Ammo & Armor Cache | Ammo and armor plates; cooldown after use | [2] |
| UAV Tower | Side Op: DMZ Cash and a pulse that reveals nearby players and enemies | [2] |
| Compound | Heavily defended outposts with better loot and intel | [2] |
| Bounty Station | Check bounties, buy intel, or pay off your own bounty | [2][3] |
| SAM Site | Capture as a Side Op; it shoots enemy aircraft, which is useful against Deathstalkers | [2] |
| Lieutenant Hunt tower | Climb it and use the laptop for intel on a nearby Lieutenant | [2] |
Exfil sites
Exfils switch on from a pool of locations around Hajin and are marked by green smoke. Call the helicopter, hold the spot until it arrives, then board to finish your run[2]. A Fulton balloon or a flare also works[2]. Other squads may set up ambushes at exfils, and the flare is loud and visible from far away[2].
Keys and locked rooms
- Keys open special loot rooms[2].
- Each key's description includes a map grid location[2].
- A Lieutenant may drop the key to their own loot room[2].
- Doors locked from the inside mean the room can be reached another way. In wooded and rural areas, look for underground entrances[2].
A full key list will follow once DMZ is live.
Enemies you'll meet in Hajin
- Regular troops: four tiers of North Korean soldiers, from basic grunts to armored, gas-masked and "Faceless" armored troops[2].
- Machines and patrols: combat drone swarms, LMG drones, K9 robot quadrupeds (mostly underground), attack helicopter patrols and road convoys[2].
- Lieutenants: tough bosses. Killing one gets you their weapon and a Dog Tag Case, but the tag shows on every player's map, and carrying it reveals you too[2]. Activision hasn't published a Lieutenant list yet; its field stories mention Gorani[2].
- Commanders: roaming bosses: the Colossus, the Deathstalker and a North Korean battle tank[2][3].
Vehicles
Vehicles need repairs and fuel in DMZ, which Activision notes isn't the case in Warzone[2].
Map grid coordinates
The grid's columns are lettered from west to east and its rows numbered from north to south. Activision's example: D7 is Imjin Farmland[2].
